Ross U15s were drawn against the champion side from Gloucestershire in the first round of the NatWest National Under 15 Cup.
The Ross team travelled to Bristol for the match, against an outstanding Bedminster side, and they acquitted themselves very well, despite being on the end of a heavy defeat.
The Bedminster bowlers were too good for Ross, who could only manage 48 runs all out.
Bedminster knocked off their target easily and now progress to a further match against the champions of Wales.
Ross Cricket Club is proud of the U15 team and the way they have performed against the odds throughout their cup run.
The following day, Ross played Brockhampton who were out for revenge after their defeat to Ross earlier in the season.
Ross fielded an inexperienced team and faced an onslaught from the experienced Brock batsmen. Cameron Hill and the two Under 13 players, Chloe Tingle and Adam Davies, were the pick of the bowlers.
Ralph Verney picked up his first wicket and also took a good catch at mid-on.
Chasing 145 to win off 20 overs was a big target, especially when the top order fell cheaply. Tom Gwynne and Adam Middlecote held the innings together with Gwynne finishing as top scorer on 23 not out. The result was a win for Brockhampton.
