GOODRICH 1sts skipper Jack Waldis scored 67 and took three wickets for 18 runs on a sizzling hot Saturday.
But it wasn’t enough to stop Gloucestershire 5 hosts Winchcombe winning by 62 runs after posting a target of 290-8 off 40 overs.
Chris Tookey also took 2-60-8, Neil Lewis 1-45-8 and Colin Walker 1-10-1 and Harry Mutlow a run out as Goodrich toiled in the sweltering heat.
Waldis partnered Sam Griffiths with 20 and Joseph Griffiths agonisingly missing a half century with 49, but only Mutlow with 13 could reach double figures after that as the visitors reached 228-7 in their 40 overs.
The 2nds also lost by six wickets at home to Alvington & Woolaston 1sts after being dismissed for 101 in 25 overs, skipper Ayrton Lowther the only batter in double figures with 27, before the visitors reached 104-4 in 30 overs.
In midweek, 2025 finalists Monmouth Menaces had too much Forest Hundred firepower at the Hilltop Paradise, reaching 156-2 before restricting Goodrich to 89-7.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Newent 1sts scored a decent 224-3 off 40 overs at home to Shurdington in Gloucestershire 3, but their run rate wasn’t fast enough as their opponents reached 225-5 with 5.3 overs to spare.
Jack Cowles just missed a ton when he was caught for 96, while Ollie Cortson hit 31, Freddie Fabian 28 not out and Mike Mason 23.
And Josh Hayes then took two wickets, backed by Andrew Brookes, Paddy Thompson and Doug Page with solo strikes.
Newent Lions basked in the sunshine though, dismissing Corse & Staunton 3rds for just 41 after reaching 223-6 in 40 overs.
Paul Carter hit an unbeaten 84 and Jamie Wood 32 not out before Rory Brown took a magnificent seven wickets for 22 runs off seven overs, backed by Nathaniel Gourlay with two and Ben Ward with one.
