Wormelow 1st XI travelled to Enville and slipped to a six wicket defeat in a match reduced to 36 overs a side after the start was delayed by rain.
Solid contributions with the bat from Josh Worsley (50), Matt Evans (44) and Matt Deem (40) saw Wormelow post a competitive 185-8 from their alloted overs.
In reply Luke Sparrow (2-32) and skipper Tom Cutler (2-51) were amongst the wickets but couldn’t prevent the home side reaching their target in the 33rd over for the loss of four wickets.
In a reverse of the 1st XI fixture, Wormelow 2nd XI welcomed Enville to Kennelfield and after getting off to a sensational start were made to work hard for a five wicket victory.
Jordan Reading (5-25) and Ed Melly (2-12) had the visitors on the ropes at 18-7 after Enville had won the toss and opted to bat. Some decent late order batting saw Enville recover to 118 all out. Jeewan Puri (1-21), Dylan Baynham (1-33) & James Powell (1-2) were the other wicket takers.
In reply, an opening stand of 63 between Dave Bannerman (48) and Robbie Stonadge (24) got Wormelow off to a great start. After a few wickets tumbled in quick succession it was left to Ben Gunn (14no) & Ashley Smith (6no) to seal the win in the 25th over.
Wormelow 3rd XI made the trip to Kington 2nds and for the second week running triumphed by 10 wickets.
New ball bowlers Jake Edmonds (2-9) and Jamie Worsfold (3-24) set the tone from the start and once they had completed their spells Callum Omelasz (3-9) and Mick Merrick (2-6) ran through the rest of the batting order as the home side were bundled out for just 66 in the 34th over.
In reply, opening batsmen Andy Lancaster (34 not out) and Chris Stonadge (27 not out) took just 19 overs to knock off the required runs with few alarms. It was a great team effort where everyone either batted, bowled or took a catch!
