Cash Legend, bred by local rider, trainer and horsebreeder Issy King, continues to build his reputation.
Following his success last year as the joint top scoring yearling in the country, Issy was presented with the Champion Yearling trophy at the British Breeders Awards Dinner held at the Grange City Hotel in London.
Issy told the Ross Gazette:?“We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of breeding this horse, I bred him hoping for a world class show jumper and at the moment he is everything I dreamt of.”
This year Issy and Cash Legend are aiming to compete at Sports Horse classes at county shows as well as returning to Futurity, at Hartpury, this year as a two-year-old in August.
Her aims for the future are for him to get on the Equine Bridge Pathway if he scores above 8.5 in his third year. The equine bridge is for horses who demonstrate international and medal winning potential. Show jumping will be his first job, but Issy also hopes to stand him at stud if he grades as a stallion in the future.
She said:?“He has developed quite a name for himself already with over 2,000 followers on his Facebook page, it has been truly wonderful sharing his journey with everyone.”
Issy bred Cash Legend herself after she produced his mum, Bolgoed Lady Legend ten years ago, and competed nationally at affiliated show jumping events with her. As she was so talented Issy decided to have a foal from her. She spent two years selecting the stallion and eventually chose Cash Point, an international show jumping stallion.
When Cash Legend was born Issy told the Gazette that she knew he was special and so far everything is coming together to make the dream a reality.
