In a sparkling display of gymnastics, 130 gymnasts from the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club delighted parents and friends in two performances of a Christmas extravaganza on Sunday. With the theme of 'Circus Time' gymnasts of all ages performed as acrobats and clowns, toys and cowboys.

Opening with lively cowboys from Wild West junior boys' squad, the boys enthusiastically dived and tumbled, somersaulted and raided to get the show going. Later in the show they displayed their serious gymnastics skills with individual performances and group displays on pommels, parallel bars and rings.In contrast the junior girls' squads showed their grace and flexibility in a beautifully choreographed 'Christmas Sparkle' routine. Splits and backbends being no problem for these young ladies.

There were several fun routines which were colourful and innovative with gymnasts acting as toys from 'The Nutcracker', characters from Dr. Seuss, as tumblers, bouncers off Trampette and senior gymnasts performing a James Bond themed display
