Ross Juniors Under 11s played hosts to Ledbury Swifts on Saturday, January 14th. The home side were not at their best in the first half, but still had the better of the chances.

Roo made a smart save to ensure Ross didn’t fall behind early on before his team-mates started to put some decent attacks together.

Their first real sight of goal came from a super cross from Luca, which Eddie did well to flick on, but it just missed the target.

The home side were caught out by the linesman’s flag on numerous occasions but did manage to send Eddie away three times. The first one narrowly missed the target and the other two were saved by the Ledbury keeper.

Things improved drastically in the second half. There was an early chance for Harvey after Sol’s set up and David put in a great tackle, which lead to Eddie putting Ross one up.

Sol saw a shot saved before Eddie doubled the lead, taking advantage of some poor defending by the visitors.

A great run down the left from Oli saw him through on goal and he unselfishly squared the ball to Sol who couldn’t quite reach it to knock it into the empty net.

Blu was unlucky to see his header strike the crossbar from a corner but Ross soon added a third when Luca’s shot was initially saved by the keeper, but not held, and Oli followed up.

Oli added another after racing through on goal and right at the end Bill narrowly missed when through on goal.

The final score was Ross Juniors 4, Ledbury Swifts 0.

The Harley Finishings man of the match was Oli Pearson.

For their next match, the Ross Juniors Under 11s will welcome FC Phoenix to Wilton Road on Saturday, January 21st.
