“Newent Town AFC has had a busy summer on the player registration front.” said Phil Clarke, the Club’s Secretary.

“We’ve just signed up Alex Goode, one of the best goal keepers around and last season’s 25 goal scoring Sanchez Grange. Added to this, proven scorer, Dorian Colling and ex Gloucester City player, Alex Allard, we’re looking strong for the upcoming season.

“Playing two pre-season games back-to-back each Saturday has been a real success, with an opportunity to look at approximately 30 Newent players in a day. Last Saturday we blooded eight of our youth team (all just 16/17 years old) and they all did themselves proud.”

“The improvements to the team was clear to see in their last game, brushing aside Ledbury Town 7-0, Dorian Colling bagging a first half hat-trick.”

“We are nearly there,” said Coach Zac Blood and Manager Ben Stringer, “We just need to add a couple more players, especially in the defensive areas.”
