Congratulations to Ross Juniors U12s Girls who won the Sue Parry Tournament, which was in aid of St Michael’s Hospice, on Sunday 30th June.
There was a high standard of play from all teams who entered, some great games to watch which were all very close, with score lines being no more than 1-0 or 1-1.
Alongside Ross there were teams from Tupsley and one from Westfields. Ross won the first game, lost the second and drew the third.
Then in the semi Ross won 1-0, and then went on to win final 1-0. The whole team of Jenna, Scarlet, Erin, Emily, Ruby, Violet, Hazel and Summer played brilliantly.
The girls’ coaches, Louise and Julie, told the Ross Gazette they are very proud of the girls who all played with team spirit and enjoyed the morning. This was a great ending to their season, which also saw success in the Tupsley Tournament and co-winning the Herefordshire FA Respect Award for 2018/19. Next Season the team look forward to playing 9v9, and the introduction of the off-side rule.
Due to the larger playing numbers they are on the look-out for new players, so if you are currently in school year 7 and fancy joining this friendly team, please contact [email protected].See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
