Putting last week’s defeat behind them, Ross Juniors came back with a flourish to win convincingly against the visitors from Kinver.
The opening exchanges were even, but soon Ross began to assert their superiority. Their first goal came after 20 minutes, when Jordan made a strong run down the left wing before crossing to find Joel unmarked in the box. The score was doubled just before half-time after Owain pounced on a defensive error and shot past the Kinver keeper.
The visitors scored early in the second half, but there was to be no defensive collapse like the Juniors endured last week. Brandon, the Ross goalkeeper was on fine form, starting many of the home team’s attacks as he moved the ball swiftly out of defence.
On the hour mark, Ernie, who’d just come on as a substitute, scored the third goal playing a sweet one-two with Owain before finding the net, his first goal for Ross. Joel added a fourth before Kinver pulled one back, but the best goal was saved until last. Powering down the right wing Pirlo beat a defender before turning the ball back to Aaron who shot low to beat the goalie at the near post.
An excellent showing by Ross Juniors with good performances throughout the team. The final score was 5:2 to Ross Juniors U16s.
