With the warm rays of sun finally starting to shine on Ross Tennis Centre’s new courts, the arrival of head coach, Steve Barnett, brings new opportunities for people in Ross to play, start or improve at tennis.
There has been a flurry of activity at the tennis centre, situated near the Prince of Wales pub, over the last few months as both the pavilion and the courts have been refurbished or renewed.
Head coach, Steve Barnett, joins the centre from Hereford Tennis, where he worked for many years. Given Steve’s experience at developing new tennis players (of all ages) and improving those to county level, Ross Tennis Centre hopes that it won’t be too long before a new generation of hitters starts to appear. Perhaps one day Ross will lay claim to its own Andy Murray!
Steve said: “I have developed a full coaching program for all ages and levels from adults and children who are complete beginners through to specific coaching on being match ready and using tactics, as much as hitting powerfully.
“The great thing about joining Ross Tennis Centre is that it is a community resource that is friendly, inclusive and open to everyone. Our new website is the best place to find out what is available, and to book in for coaching.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
