Goodrich ‘A’ttitudes travelled back to Manor Park on Sunday, 9th December, and this time it was to play their ‘B’ team in Division Three of the Hereford & Worcester Winter League, having taken on and beaten their ‘C’ team just a few weeks ago.

However, the ‘A’ttitudes found this to be a much stronger challenge with the Manor Park team, currently in second position in the division, strengthened by a new lady.

Despite some very tough battles and competitive games, Manor Park secured all four of the rubbers.

In the first, Cheryl Mordecai and Steph Howell got off to a very strong start, taking the set 6-1, but Manor Park came back hard and took the next two sets, 3-6/1-6.

On the adjacent court, ‘A’ttitudes second pair, Rachael Wintle and Cath Hutchinson, up against Manor Park’s second pair, were also struggling to win games and eventually went down 2-6/1-6.

In the second round, Cheryl and Steph were unable to win enough games to convert into sets, despite a valiant attempt in the second set, and in the end saw the rubber go the way of Manor Park, 2-6/5-7.

Goodrich players, Rachael and Cath, also lost their second rubber, 2-6/2-6, but they thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of playing some highly competitive tennis.

The ‘A’ttitudes next match is on Sunday, 10th February, where they will be hosting MCS at Goodrich.
