THE BULLS were held to a 1-1 home draw by Bradford Park Avenue on a frustrating afternoon.
Hereford took the lead with their first effort on goal when Jared Hodgkiss fed Jason Pope whose low strike from distance found its way into the net through a crowd of players.
Loanee goalkeeper, Will Henry, made a couple of confident claims on his home debut before a flick-on from Adam Nowakowski set Oli Johnson away into the area but he dragged his effort wide from a good position.
On the quarter-hour mark Alex Bray did well to cut across the area before seeing his strike well saved by Joe Green.
The visitors got back on level terms on 18 minutes when Nowakowski headed on to Nicky Clee who fired powerfully home.
A free-kick from Danny Greenslade was headed on by Reece Styche and as the visitors cleared ahead of Ben Pollock, the loose ball was eventually scrambled away.
Some good pace out wide by Bray ended with his inviting low cross into the danger zone cleared by Ryan Toulson.
An ambitious effort from inside his own half by Clee went narrowly wide as he used the windy conditions to his advantage as he spotted Henry straying off his line.
Johnson charged down a clearance from Henry and as he looked to turn the ball home, Styche was alert to block.
As the clock ticked down at the end of the opening period, a free-kick on the right found its way over to Styche on the far side but his curling effort was blocked as the sides went in at the break on level terms.
An early cross from Styche at the start of the second half caused problems for the ‘keeper as Mooney lurked with intent but the visitors were able to clear the danger.
Moments later Bulls striker Victor Sodiende broke through and lifted the ball over the ‘keeper but just over the crossbar.
Hereford were almost caught out when a chance opened up for Johnson in front of goal but he was denied by a superb save from Henry, who then did well to thwart Mitch Lund in the visitors’ next raid.
A teasing ball into the area by substitute, Kyle Finn, was gathered by the alert Green as Sodiende looked to profit as the clock ticked down.
After a corner for The Bulls was cleared in the 88th minute, Lewis Knight broke away only to be denied as Henry came to the rescue of Hereford FC once again, as they were held to a home draw.
