Ross Juniors Men’s side played at home on Saturday against Littledean. Ross went into the game thinking it could be a tricky fixture as they lost to them twice last season, but Ross won 11 - 1.

Littledean started strong and both teams was evenly matched until after 20 minutes a Littledean corner seemed to outwit the Ross keeper to score. After that Ross had chances but couldn’t put them away.

Ross lost midfielder Callum McCulloch to injury and was replaced with Jack Jennings.

After the half time team talk Ross came out much brighter than in the first half. Straight away the passing was much better and it was soon 1 - 1 with a goal from Brad Wooding getting on the end of a Jack Bray corner.

A few minutes later Wooding scored again with brilliant set up play from Jennings and Bray.

Ross got into their rhythm and wanted more goals. A 40 yard pass from Callum Trotman in Ross’ own half set up Wooding again, one on one with the keeper and scored to get his hat-trick. Brad went close again by hitting the bar few minutes later, but headed in goal number four from another cross by Trotman.

A fifth goal came from Jennings from a throw ball off Kristian Milnes. Toby Alexander came as fresh legs and made an immediate impact to set up Wooding for his fifth goal.

Ross was playing the ball around more freely and the Littledean players were getting more tired, this lead to goal seven from Jennings, a wonderful strike from edge of the box.

Alexander picked up the ball in midfield and went on a great solo run through the Littledean defence to make it 8 - 1 to home side. Wooding fired in two in quick succession that made his sixth and seventh of the game. Nicholls rounded things off with a goal to finish the match. The win sends Ross to the top of the table on goal difference.

Golf Sports Bar Man of the Match was Brad Wooding with seven goals. Ross are at home on Saturday against Milkwall Reserves, 2pm kick off.
