Joyce Thomas MBE DL, patron and long time supporter of Ross Juniors Football Club was delighted to be part of the ladies’ recent game.

At the age of 85 she kicked the game off between Ross Junior Ladies and Belmont Ladies.

And she must have brought the Ross team good luck as they won 6-1. The goals included a hat-trick from Megan Dunn, as well as goals from Nicola Richardson-Wall, and Hannah Callen.

The team invited Joyce to become their newest signing and Team Captain Nicola Richardson-Wall said: “Joyce shows plenty of promise and will certainly keep the team on their toes”.

The team have weekly training sessions at the Sports Centre from 6pm until 7.30pm on Friday evenings and take partin the occasional friendly match – anyone who wants to try playing ladies football is welcome to come along.
