OVER 100 people watched Ross Juniors Ladies win the Ross Invitational Cup final 4-1 against Wellington at the Sports Ground on Sunday, becoming the first team to retain the trophy.

On a sunny afternoon, Juniors took the lead in the ninth minute when Anna Craig set Summer Richardson Wall free on the left, who cut in and drilled home into the far corner.

And it was 2-0 on 24 minutes when great link up play saw Craig finish off a fine move just inside the box.

Wellington pulled one back in the 58th minute, but with 12 minutes left Craig scored a cracker from distance, and then right on time, Heather Wallace drilled home from a tight angle for 4-1.

Meanwhile, Juniors Women secured a 12-0 win at Wyre Forest in the Mid West Counties League with their youngest squad of the season (average age 17.2) .

Ruardean Hill Rangers also lost 3-0 at home to Tytherington Rocks, leaving them six points above the Gloucestershire League drop zone with five games left.

But Lydbrook celebrated two home wins in three days in Gloucestershire Northern 2, beating Bream 3-1 in midweek thanks to a Finlay Morris brace and one from Aaron Powell, and King's Stanley 5-0 on Saturday courtesy of a Ryan Wilks hat-trick off the bench and two from James Mathews.

NG3 leaders Ruardean Hill A suffered FJ Pope Cup final disappointment losing 2-1 to Blakeney 2nds at Dene Magna on Sunday.

But Lydbrook A in third kept up their promotion push with a 6-0 win away to Rank 2nds.
