Saturday was a perfect day for football and Ross Juniors U10s produced a perfect 10 performance, although it was a nightmare for their opponents in this Halloween friendly.

Ross almost got off to the perfect start with two early chances for Luca and they didn’t have to wait long to take the lead when JT crossed the ball for Eddie to fire in from close range.

It was quite an even game in the opening period with David called upon to make a good save in the Ross goal and Josh making a great tackle to keep them ahead and, at the other end, JT fired over following a set up from Harvey B.

With Josh now in goal, he made two good saves before Ross extended their lead when David was on hand to tuck the ball away following a great run from Eddie. The home side started to create plenty of chances and JT was unlucky to see his shot saved by the Ledbury keeper but Ross soon added another goal when debutant Toby scored. Toby then set up a great chance for Gwills but he misdirected his shot.

Ledbury almost pulled a goal back but they struck the crossbar and then Ross scored three quick goals with two for Eddie and a well deserved goal for Gwills following a quick throw on.

Leading 6 – 0 going into the final 20 minutes, Josh and Eddie linked up to set up Luca but he saw his shot clear the crossbar. A trademark run from Eddie set up Josh for a simple tap in to make it seven and then Eddie scored his fourth of the day. Ledbury were desperate to register a goal but couldn’t beat Toby (now in the Ross goal). Harvey B showed some lovely skills to set himself up but fired wide. He soon got himself on the scoresheet following a good move involving Luca and Gwills. Harvey B almost added a couple more before Ledbury had probably their best spell of the game but David and JT defended well to keep their chances to a minimum.

Ledbury were unlucky not to score when they hit the post but right on the final whistle Luca struck a thunderbolt from the corner of the penalty area following David’s short corner to make it ten.
