Manager Pete Beadle has spoken to a number of last season’s squad over the weekend to discuss his plans for next season.
The following players have been released: Mustapha Bundu and Sidic Grant (both released due to not being eligible to play in Southern League South and West due to visa constraints), Jamie Laird, Nathan Hughes, James Bowen (loan expires), James Pilling, Max Kontic-Coveney and Dylan Bonella.
Speaking on the official Hereford FC website, Beadle praised the efforts of those who have not been offered deals.
He said: “Last season’s success was down to the whole squad, and I’d like to thank every player for their efforts. I’m sure every fan will join me in wishing all those that are moving on the very best of luck for the future.”
Further to those who have been released, Beadle has reached agreements with the following players to stay at Edgar Street next season; Martin Horsell, Joel Edwards, Ross Staley, Mike Symons, Jamie Willets and Anthony Robbins.
“I’m delighted to have agreed deals so quickly with a number of key players from last season’s squad. We can now really start looking forward to next season.
“I hope to add to this list over the coming days and weeks with players retained from last season, as well as a couple of new faces.”
Talks continue with a number of last season’s squad not listed above.
Pete Beadle has made his first new signing of the summer, bringing in former Hereford United, and most recently Weston-Super-Mare midfielder, Jamie Edge.
Edge returns to Edgar Street where he made 12 appearances during the 2013/14 season, including featuring in the dramatic end of season game at Aldershot which saw The Bulls avoid relegation with the final day win.
Since leaving Edgar Street, Edge has been playing for National League South side Weston-Super-Mare who he captained during the last campaign.
Speaking about the signing, Bulls boss Pete Beadle said: “It’s fantastic to have someone of Jamie’s ability come in and really add something to the squad. Myself and Jenks are delighted that Jamie has agreed to join us and be part of our journey.”
