With the Regatta season in full flow, it’s been a busy couple of weeks for rowers, with some healthy sibling rivalry evident throughout! On May 18th, Ross Rowing Club juniors took part in Worcester Regatta.
The Billington twins were on strong form with a win from Oliver in the J15 single scull event and from Lucy, with crew member Niamh Gabb, in the girls’ double event. Tom Clatworthy also had a win in the boys J14 single scull showing ever improving form. Ella Bardsley-Taylor continued her consistent winning streak, rowing up an age group in the WJ16 single scull events, as did Yasmin Howe in her WJ14 event.
This was an ideal warm up for the national schools regatta which took place on May 24th-26th at the Olympic rowing lake at Eton Dorney with 5000 crews from across the UK. See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
