Ross-on-Wye Juniors U15s hosted Solihull at the weekend and dispatched the visitors comfortably, winning 5-2.

The Juniors took the lead virtually from the kick-off, Luke Firkin beat the Solihull goalie and squared the ball to Jordan Suttie who slotted home.

Solihull tried to settle, and came close, but Tommy prevented the equaliser with a goal line clearance.

Ross doubled their lead and once again Luke was the provider. Although Solihull tried to pull a goal back, the Ross defence was strong, especially Freddie Reynolds and Tommy Hall, and the home team extended their lead to four when Joel Nicholls hit a curling shot into the top corner.

The second half was harder work for the home team as the visitors revived and attacked with determination.

Solihull pulled two goals back and momentarily put Ross on the back foot, but the Juniors attacked again with Joel and Jordan both coming close.

Finally Luke scored his second goal and the Juniors’ fifth to put the game beyond doubt.
