Ross Juniors took another win on the evening of Thursday, April 25th with the men’s team, this time away to Ewyas Harold Reserves. They won with an impressive score of 4-1.

It was their third game in six days and they carried on their success from the Cup Final on Easter Monday, April 22nd.

Their win was despite the home side playing many first team players. Ross played some of their best football of the season in this game and the goal scorers were an own goal and an Eli Wooding hat trick.

On Saturday, April 28th, the two teams met again, this time in Ross-on-Wye, and Ewyas Harold were looking for revenge. Again, they had many first teamers playing. The home side looked sluggish from the start and the third game in a short space of time was obviously taking its toll.

In the end, Ross dug deep and eventually won the game 3-2, with the goal scorers Florin Crainic, Eli Wooding and Mikey Donaldson.

At the end of the game, the emotional manager, Dan Morris, said: “I’m so proud of every one of my players, they are totally exhausted after so many games in a short space of time.

“This week goes down as one my most proudest moments in my life. I would like to thank, as well, the massive and noisy fans who come to every game, rain or shine.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
