Ross Junior’s U11s team finished the football season on a high by winning the Toros Football Tournament in Hereford. The boys had recently reached the semi-final of a tournament in Ross-on-Wye, and this time went a step further to lift the prestigious and well-earned trophy in Belmont.
The U11s finished the Tournament with seven wins against various Herefordshire teams, beating Leominster Juniors 2-0 in the final. Their coach, Mark Ravenhill, said: “This season has taken a lot of effort from the whole squad. This year they have had to adjust to a larger pitch and getting to grips with the offside rule.
“Over the last few months we have gone from strength to strength and to finish our season with a tournament win shows great character and demonstrates how hard they have trained and played.”
The team now take a break and look forward to joining the Sunday League in September, 2019.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
