Mayor of Ross, Councillor Harry Bramer recently visited Hereford FC’s football grounds to see the site where a proposed new stand is to be built, funded by Herefordshire Council.
The current stand, which is situated opposite the Old Cattle Market retail park in Hereford, will be demolished. The new stand will provide up to 100 flats for rent and will offer the club a new 1000 seater stadium in this fast growing quarter of the city.
This follows Herefordshire Council’s completion of the lease of Edgar Street stadium to Hereford FC.
The ten year lease will secure the club’s tenancy at the Edgar Street stadium until 2030, enabling the club to proceed with plans to return the ground to a four-sided stadium.
Councillor Harry Bramer, Herefordshire Council Cabinet Member for Contracts and Assets, said: “The security of the club’s tenancy until 2030 is a real boost for the club and for the fans.
“Herefordshire Council is looking forward to working with Hereford FC to build on this year’s league success by planning and investing in the stadium – potentially transforming the Edgar Street area and providing new opportunities for retailers.
