Ross Juniors Men’s Side played away on Saturday, and were up against Sedbury Utd. The Ross-on-Wye team came away with a hard fought win: 4 - 3.
Ross didn’t start the game well in the first half and they soon found themselves 3 - 0 down. Just before the half time interval, Jack Bray scored with a pin point header to make the score 3 - 1.
After the half time team talk, the determination of the players shone through and Ross came out with more of a fight to get something out of the game. Top goal scorer, Bradley Wooding got Ross their second goal.
Fresh legs came on with Jon Woodward and Kristian Milnes replacing Luke Harris and Chris Woodward, both subs making an impact and causing chaos for the home side. Wayne Husbands popped up with a header of his own to get the score level at 3 - 3.
The last sub to come on was Toby Alexander, for Callum Trotman, with ten minutes to go. Toby got the winning goal with a one-on-one with the Sedbury goalkeeper.
It was an unbelievable game of two halves, with Ross getting a fighting win to keep their League winning position alive.
The Physio and Health Matters Man of the Match went to Callum McCulloch and Jack Bray. Ross will next play at the Ross-on-Wye Sports Centre on Saturday to Gloster Rovers. Kick off is at 2.30pm.
