The Year 8 Football Team at John Kyrle High School had huge success recently when they won the County Cup.

The boys finished second in their very strong group, beating Fairfield, Whitecross, Hereford Academy, Kingstone and Tenbury. They went on to beat Aylestone with a huge victory of 8-2 in the semi-final.

The Year 8s progressed to the final where they played Earl Mortimer College from Leominster, who had beaten them in their league fixture 2-1.

In an excellent, hard fought game, the John Kyrle High School team scored the winning goal with a few minutes to play, deservingly winning the game 1-0.
