With the season now over, Ross Juniors U10s held their end of season review and player of the year award ceremony.

The team have really come on this season, winning 40 of their 61 matches (which include friendlies and tournament fixtures) and scoring 190 goals along the way. The boys narrowly lost in the cup semi-final and were unlucky to finish runners-up at the Churchdown tournament, losing the final on penalties.

At the award ceremony, Player’s Player of the Year was Eddie Price. His energy and hard work is a great example to the rest of the team and he also finished top scorer, with 53 goals.

Manager’s Player of the Year went to Bill Ashelford for his great attitude, no matter where he plays. He’s been a solid defender, combative midfielder and scored some stunning goals.

Most Improved Player was Jacob Talbot. Playing much of the season in defence, he has shown a calmness bringing the ball out and has also made some vital interceptions and tackles.

A special mention to Roo Tighe for his brilliant goalkeeping and best goal celebration following his great individual goal at the Ledbury tournament.

David Mason has been a great captain this season, spurring his team-mates on and leading by example with some vital tackles.

Coaches, Mike and Ben, are really looking forward to seeing continued improvement from the team next season.
