Many of the Ross sports teams enjoyed success this weekend.
RUGBY
Ross 1sts Captain Casey Morgan was the player who made the difference in the Combination Cup game against Newent at the weekend. His score brought the game to life and Ross continued to dominate and won 20-0.
Unfortunately it was a different story for Ross 2nds who were comprehensivly beaten by Cinderford, 64-0.
FOOTBALL Hereford FC beat Brocton 4-1 on April 9th an are looking forward to the next match on April 13th versus Continental Star. Ross Juniors Men's team was away on Saturday to Sedbury Utd and came away with a hard fought 4 - 3 win.RUNNING
A team from the Spirit of Monmouth Runing Club put up an excellent show at the Manchester Marathon completing the course in under three hours and25 minutes.
Six members from the John Kyrle Gym took part in the Forest Warrior on Sunday, April 10th and were pleased with their results. This was a 10K obstacle race that started from the Speech House and takes the runners around the Forest tracks and mud trails to Mallards Pike and back. BOWLS
The President of Ross-on-Wye Bowling Club, Mr John Perks, formally opened the Green for the start of the outdoor season on Saturday April 9th.
He also presented a cheque for £1,000 for St Michael’s Hospice to the Mayor of Ross. This was the proceeds from the President’s Charity for 2015.
GOLF
South Herefordshire Seniors continued their fun mid-week medal competitions as well as an away match against Ombersley which ended in an emphatic win for the home side 5.5 to 0.5.
CRIBBAGE
THE winners of the Ross & District Crib League Finals 2016 is the team from the Man of Ross.
