ROSS Juniors’ new senior ladies team travelled to Kidderminster on Sunday for their second MidWest Counties Ladies League match.

And having been hit by the full force of Redditch Borough in the season’s opener, they gave a much better showing losing just 2-1 to Wyre Forest Phoenix.

And they’ll be condident now of putting some points on the board back home at the Sports Ground this Sunday (September 25) when they host Hereford Pegasus, kick-off 2pm.

Meanwhile, after a four-year absence Juniors also rejoined the Herefordshire Development Ladies League at the weekend, running out 8-0 winners at Ledbury (above).

Ten players in the squad made their debuts in the league, with both teams holding a minute’s silence in honour of the Queen beforehand.

Ross kicked down the slope in the first half and dominated play, but only had the one goal to show for it at half-time.

A tactical change in the second half saw Ross then turn their dominance into goals, with Danie Ward firing four, Nicola Wall a hat-trick and Jess Brain getting the other.
