The Lady Captain’s last Gasp Competition heralded Katie Greenwood’s successful year as 2017-18 Lady Captain. A very popular lady captain, she has supported and lead the Ladies with great kindness and good humour. Her chosen charity was Midlands Air Ambulance, a charity dear to all our hearts, and over the past year, £2,757 was raised for it. Her final, very enjoyable competition was well attended, and was won by a strong team of Sally Fycun, Sue Johnson, Carol Smith and Sarah Forrest, who scored an outstanding 93 points. On November 13th, The Lady Captain’s Drive In welcomed the new Lady Captain, Sally Lawrence, who has been a member at Ross Golf Club for 10 years and currently plays off 19 handicap. Her husband, Peter, is currently Chairman of the club and daughter, Jessie, is following in her footsteps and improving steadily.
Her drive in was well supported, great fun and rather fittingly Sally’s team consisting of Katie Greenwood, Jennifer Freel and Ellie Teasdale won the competition with 69 points. Sally’s chosen charity is the Multiple Sclerosis Society and fundraising began at her Drive In with a raffle.
