Ross Golf Club’s latest major men’s competition, the annual Bradley Court Cup, attracted 113 entrants for what is their only bogey-scored medal event, incorporating a match-play format in the winning and losing of holes, where the opponent is effectively the golf course itself.

The occasion and +4 result provided yet another opportunity for 16-year-old Ross Juniors Vice-Captain Liam Greig (pictured right) to complete another Trophy win in a season of remarkable ‘continuous improvement’ experiences, which has seen his handicap tumble from 16 to 9.

The runner-up with a +3 score was 4 handicapper, Tim Wyatt and Liam’s record may have revived memories for Tim of his 2012 season when Tim enjoyed an equally successful year enabling him to collect three Trophies at the Club’s Annual Presentation evening.

Tim is pleased with his current good form, which he can take with him into the Club’s forthcoming Knock-out Finals day, which will take place on Sunday, September 3rd. Here, he will aim to become the Club’s Men Champion, if he can overcome 1 handicapper Stuart Carter-Smith or 17-year-old, 3 handicapper Cam Haines in a 36 holes match-play Final.

Other good scorers in the Bradley Court were Joe Irvine and Harvey Hancock, also with +3, followed by +2 scores by Richard Brough, Derek Hancock, Colin Gladwyn and Jeremy Picton-Turbervill and +1 scores by Harry Griffiths, Philip Midwinter, Alex Duncanson, Matthew Joyner, Murray Thomson and David Higdon.
