Ross Golf Club’s Mixed 4th Winter Stableford, which was spread over a period of two days in a series of five monthly competitions, from which ultimately emerges the winner of the Club’s annual honours board major Barnfield Trophy, attracted some of the highly accomplished former Ross Juniors players in the line-up of 122 members who took part, represented by all sections.

The event saw a great turnout, and all of the golfers played well. The days were eventful and enjoyable.

While it was not entirely surprising to see the final score-sheet headed by former 2017 Club Champion and Juniors Captain, Cam Haines, playing off a 3 handicap, what was impressive was the quality of Cam’s performance.

From the Club’s yellow course, Cam delivered three birdies and an eagle in a gross medal score of 69 to yield him 42 stableford points and his second eagle at the par four, 16 hole would have also been financially remunerative, as Cam was one of just five players to benefit through the 2’s Club.

The round also provided a great start to his 2019 season, which will see Cam now playing off a 2 handicap.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
