ROSS Golf Club’s Ladies have been able to celebrate the joint successes of both women’s teams that play in the Cotswold & District Ladies Golf Alliance, reports KEITH RAY.

Having narrowly missed out on promotion from Division 2 last year, the 'A' team achieved the accolade of 2026 League 2 Champions with three matches still to play this time.

Producing consistently strong performances throughout the season, they finished three points ahead of nearest rivals Lilley Brook Golf Club from Cheltenham.

Team captain Kerry Welding will be presented with the trophy at the Gloucestershire Golfing Alliance meeting at the Gorsley-based Ross Club later this month.

And all members wish the team all the best of luck and success for 2027 in Division 1 when they will face opponents from Minchinhampton, Cotswold Hills, Cirencester and Broadway.

That was not the end of the great news from the Ross Ladies section either, as the Handicap Team also enjoyed a highly successful season.

In their second year competing in the Cotswold & District Ladies Golf Alliance Handicap League, the Wendy Ancrum-captained squad faced some tough opposition throughout the summer.

Playing against eight other teams in the division, the team showed tremendous commitment throughout the season.

And as a result of their enthusiasm, team spirit and plenty of hard work, they also finished No 1 in the final results table, scoring 31 points to top the table one point ahead of nearest rivals Brickhampton Court Golf Club from Gloucester.

Meanwhile, former professional tour golfer and online golf creator Elliott Bradley has posted a film on his social media praising the driving range at Upton Bishop’s South Herefordshire Golf Club.

The range at the Twin Lakes course is open Monday to Saturday from 7.30am-7pm, except Wednesday when it’s 7.30am-9pm, and is also open on Sunday from 7.30am-6pm.
