Ross came away with a hard earned point at Cainscross last Saturday, but will look for a significant improvement in performance for the visit of Cheltenham Civil service next Saturday.

The sun shone and the scene was set for a quality game of high tempo rugby, but both teams struggled to get pace into the game. The referee's constant whistle certainly did not help but some poor contact skills by both sides did not aid any continuity in play.

For Ross the set piece that had creaked in previous weeks was sound with hooker Tony Clements finding his lineout jumpers. Ross were able to deliver quality possession at scrum and lineout. However some strong tackling in midfield by Cainscross prevented Ross getting over the gainline and delivering quality front foot ball.

Ross did take the lead after half an hour.
