On Saturday only one of Ross Juniors Senior sides were in action, with the Reserves at home against Orleton Colts Reserves in Herefordshire Division 3. After a stunning first half performance Ross came away with a 6 – 0 victory. This continues their winning start to the league season, with two wins out of two.

Due to the first team having no game Managers Wayne Husbands and Jamie Jones brought in three players, Ted Loftus, Andrew Densley and Carl Roberts, as several players had pulled out due to injuries. The opening exchanges in the match seemed fairly even, with both sides having half chances, however no side could find the early breakthrough. After 15 minutes Ross opened the scoring when a Densley corner was controlled by Loftus at the back post and powered across the front of goal only to be turned in to their own net by an away sides defender, to put Ross one up. Orleton put Ross under some pressure for the next ten minutes but Chalky Robertshaw was rolling back the years with an accomplished performance at right back and Alex Malsom and Wayne Husbands clearing any danger from centre half, also keeper Cameron Hatch pulled off one outstanding save. The rest of the first half then turned into the Densley and Carl Stevens show, with Stevens scoring a quick fire hat trick with three brilliant finishes all from through balls by Densley to put Ross four up, the first half was completed with an expert finish by Loftus after being fed by the impressive McCulloch, Ross went into half time 5 – 0 up.

The second half was never going to live up to the first.
