On Saturday Howle Hill kept up their impressive recent form with a convincing 7 0 win over Milkwall Reserves at Weston. As with previous weeks the Hillmen raced to a 4 0 lead on the first 20 mins. The first goal came from a great ball from Ryan Stacey for Tom Shotton to run onto round the keeper and roll the ball into an empty net. Hill should have had a penalty a few minutes later but the ref waved away Shotton's protests after being fouled in the box. It was two after 10 mins Jake Jarrett beat his man to find Bobby Hatch unmarked to tap the ball past the keeper. Within two minutes it was 3 after good work from Phin Parsons he found James O'Brien who beat two defenders and smashed the ball into the top corner. Hill continued to dominate the game and it was soon 4 Jarrett scoring from 10 yards much to the surprise of his team mates. Hill saw out the rest of the half with the defence of Stacey, McAfee, Griffiths and Andrews dealing with any threat of the away team leaving keeper Cooke struggling to keep warm. The 2nd started much the same as the 1st with Hill pressuring the defence and coming close to scoring through Hatch, Shotton and O'Brien being denied by the brilliance of the away keeper. O'Brien thought he had scored from a Mclarty cross with a shot that crossed the line by a yard but the linesman and ref did not see it. It was 5 after the hour when Tom Shotton headed home. Number six came soon after a Lee Edwards pass found Hatch who scored with a shot into the far corner. Hatch scored his fourth hat trick of the season soon after a shocking right foot shot that never left his boot came to his left and he rifled the ball into the top corner. Hill then saw out the rest of the game. The result sends Hill third in the league. Man of the match was Joe Griffiths for showing he can play comfortably anywhere on the pitch. Next week it's away to Viney Hill kick off 2pm.
