ROSS?JUNIORS?U9s player, Jacob Gane was voted the Rising Star of a six a side festival of football on Saturday May 18th.

Ross Juniors football club entered four teams in the football tournament in Cinderford.

In the afternoon it was the turn of the Under 9s sides. The club entered the Juniors and the Colt sides and being in the same group ended up playing each other which was easy for the supporters as they all shouted "Come on Ross".

Each group had a presentation session and all boys received a medal to remember the day.

In addition, there was a trophy for the Rising Star in each age group. This was decided by the referees, who nominated a "man of the match" during each game. In the Under 9s group Jacob Gane, was announced as the Rising Star receiving 3 nominations out of the 6 games.

All of the teams played well, with great spirit and the coaches were proud of the boys' behaviour whilst representing their club.

The club would like to thank family and friends who turned up and supported all the teams with their fine vocal chords!

Tournaments are a great way to experiment with the shape of the teams and for player to try new positions, as normally there are unlimited substitutes allowed.
