Royal Dean Forest’s Jared Linden rounded off the cyclocross season on a high at the final round of the Western League Chavenage House near Tetbury, finishing 4th in the senior category.

This was confirmed as 2nd overall after a gruelling 14 rounds through one of the wettest and therefore muddiest cyclocross seasons for years. This is even more impressive as this is only Jared’s 2nd cyclocross season.

Following on from Jared’s success Ant White secured 3rd overall in the Western League Cyclocross in the Veteran’s category.

Coming up on May 15th is the Boar Chase mountain bike challenge event. The Wild Boar Chase is a popular MTB event in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Entrants can choose their route from a 21, 26, 40 or 45 mile routes.

The event is run by the Forest’s Lions club, with assistance by Royal Dean Forest Cycling Club. Proceeds go to good causes in the local area. See www.rdfcc.org.uk website or the Forest of Dean Lions’ website.

Ideal training for the wild Boar Chase is to come along to one of RDFCC’s Sunday MTB rides, starting at Parkend.

New faces will always be made welcome. See the website or Facebook page for more details of this, road rides, women’s and youth rides.
