Kieran Lowley, of St Owens Cross, represented England in an international Tae Kwon Do tournament in Cardiff on Sunday.

Kieran, 16, practices the art of Tae Kwon Do with the Traditional Tae Kwon Do Federation and trains with the club at the Larruperz Centre. He has also been attending England training sessions at Tewkesbury.

'The Sword of Friendship' tournament took place between England, Eire, Northern Ireland and Wales. Scotland and Holland normally participate but had transport problems and could not attend. It was a superb tournament which resulted in England winning all three groups, boys, girls and adults. Kieran competed in the boys group and won both of his bouts. England are now the holders of the Sword and will host the tournament next year.
