MONROSS Trailblazers Running Club enjoyed a day to remember at the Stroud Half Marathon on Sunday, as members Ben and Emma Humphries produced outstanding performances that highlighted their dedication, commitment, hard work, and determination.
Both runners set new personal bests, showcasing not only their individual talents but also the spirit, energy, and camaraderie of the Trailblazers.
Ben delivered a sensational performance, storming home in 1 hour 25 minutes and 19 seconds. His effort placed him comfortably inside the top 100 of nearly 1,500 runners.
His pace and endurance over the challenging 13.1-mile course were praised by fellow club members, who said his performance inspired others to push their own limits.
Emma also turned in an exceptional run, finishing in 1 hour 46 minutes and 13 seconds to claim her own personal best.
She crossed the line 77th among the female competitors, demonstrating strength and determination throughout the race.
The couple’s success was a proud moment for MonRoss Trailblazers, with the club commending both for representing them so admirably.
Saturday also saw a strong turnout from MonRoss members at parkruns across the region. At Forest of Dean parkrun, Jake McBride ran 00:24:59 to finish 16th overall.
At Exeter Riverside, Gareth Bradbury recorded a time of 00:20:36 to place 28th, while at Lydney parkrun, Faye Johnson produced a standout performance, finishing third overall with a time of 00:21:23.
The club said: “Phenomenal efforts all round. It was a cool but dry morning, perfect conditions for fast runs, steady jogs, or gentle walks, and we are delighted with the dedication shown by all our Trailblazers across the events.
The club is now looking forward to many more successful runs, exciting challenges, future races, and memorable moments in the weeks ahead.”
