Ross came to the penultimate game of the season in the De Cymru and Marches League 2, in Neath, still needing one point to be sure of staying in this league for next season.
As the teams took to the field it looked like experience versus youth, Ross being the youth, but who would win out? The first half went by fairly uneventfully, with mainly end to end stuff. Then, as half time approached, Luke Ward made a great run out of defence with a good weighted pass to Monty Rudge to finish.
After the break Neath pressurised for the equaliser, with several short corners and a great save by Ross keeper Lawrence Raasch, but then Ross increased their lead with another finish by Monty.
Ross looked to be on for a comfortable win but Neath were not finished yet, a shot from outside the D was deflected off the stick of Luke Ward for an own goal. Ross didn't let their heads go down and scored a further two goals.
The first was a through ball by Tom Walton and finished by Jonny Cross, the next, a third from Monty Rudge to complete his hat-trick.
Neath came back with another goal to make the final score Neath 2 Ross 4.
Ross will need to continue this form in their final game at Monmouth against promotion chasing Cheltenham.
