After flooding postponed parkrun for three weeks, over 100 local runners were delighted to take part in the first park run of 2020 on Saturday, January 4th.

The weather improved towards the end of the week and the runners benefited from a keen wind that dried things up well. Volunteers have also been working hard again with the wood chip paths, provided by Walford Timber.

A spokesperson for Ross-on-Wye parkrun said: “We had plenty of visitors from all over, including Ivy from Nottinghamshire and her Mum. Ivy was taking part in her fifth parkrun and high-fived every marshal as she went round. This is an impressive parkrun history for Ivy, who is only four-years-old.

A spokesperson for Ross-on-Wye parkrun said: “Thank you so much to all of our 22 volunteers, who bowled us over with their enthusiasm and hard work to get us going again. This makes such an enormous difference and we are so grateful and relieved that you were so keen to fill this week’s rota.”See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
