The Ross and District Motor Sport Club held the Pete Fear Sporting Trial at Pauntley, near Newent, on Sunday, October 11th. This event has been running now for 25 years and is a round of the MSA and WSA national sporting trial championship.

There were 25 entrants, of which seven were Ross and District members.

Pete Fenson from Mayhill, driving a Halmolton, was the best member from the Ross and District Motor Sport Club. The event was won by Ian Veale, driving a Sherpa. Second expert driver was David Ranch, driving a Crossley 80.

The first intermediate was Steve Courts, driving a Facksimile. Second was Richard Sharp, driving a Cap #5. The first novice was Alan Murton driving a Bam, followed by Colin Flashman driving a MSR.

The weather was very dry which meant low scores from the dry hills. It was a very enjoyable, well attended day. The club thanks all the Marshalls and officials who attended the event. Without the assistance of Marshalls and officials, these events could not take place.

The club also extends their thanks to Paul Chapman, the landowner.
