Local racing duo Roger Matthews and Paul Morris won the historic class of Herefordshire Motor Club's Mini Epynt Rally on Sunday June 2nd.

Driver Roger, from St Weonards, and co-driver Paul, from Ross, in their Ford Escort won their class with a time of 47.23 and finished 19th overall. Richard Merriman and Kath Curzon, in a Darrian T90, won the Foster & Skeffington Challenge Trophy with a time of 43.49.

The Epynt Rally takes place on approximately 100,000 acres of the Brecon army ranges. Competitors let loose on 23 miles of tarmac roads in the forest. This year's event saw 80 entires spread over six racing classes. Roger and Paul's next racing event is in a fortnight, in Builth. They currently sit joint first in the Motorsport Welsh Historic Rally Championship.
