Ross were back in action looking to improve on their losing finalist in the North Midlands Cup. Chaddesley brought a big side and it looked as if Ross might be in for a difficult afternoon, however superior ball skills and a willingness to keep the ball alive and move it to space proved far too much for the visitors and the result was not in doubt after a 4 try opening quarter.Craig Smith opened the scoring, quickly followed by a Gavin Oates brace and when Smith added another, after twenty minutes, Ross were 26-0 ahead courtesy of three Huw Bellamy conversions.
