Ross & District Motorsport Club held the Spring RosSolo at Strensham Services on Sunday, March 11th. The event, organised by Nigel Smith, Chairman of Ross Motorsport Club, saw 37 drivers test their control and agility around four challenging courses.
The event attracted a multitude of spectators, some of whom were passing through the services, making the most of the sunshine and watching whilst they ate their lunch, others had turned up specifically for the competition.
The event also attracted a wide spectrum of drivers, old and young, male and female, making it a battle of experience against youthful exuberance and, as always, a battle of the sexes.
It looked as though Adrian Taylor may have been out of the competition when smoke started billowing from the back of his Mazda RX8, the cause being oil getting onto the inlet. The problem was soon fixed and Adrian was straight back on the course finishing an impressive third in his class.
The National B Championship had 20 entries. The eventual, and overall winner was car 13, Kevin Belcher, from the Oxford Motor Club in his Subaru Impreza.
The Clubman's Championship had 17 competitors. Car 23, Liam Rollings from Hereford Motor Club came first in this category in his Austin Mini.
Graham Spencer in his VW Golf, car 25, won the award for Best Ross & District Club driver and Sarah Beard, car 26, won Best Lady in her Citroen Saxo.
The Ross & District Motorsports Club would like to thank all who were involved in the organisation and running of the event for making it such a fantastic day.
The next RosSolo will be held in the Autumn on Sunday, September 23rd.
