Ross Bridge Club's Annual Swiss Teams Charity event was well supported with 14 teams taking part including representatives from neighbouring Clubs in Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. Not for the first time, the charity chosen to benefit was the Friends of Ross Community Hospital. The contributions from table monies, and an excellent £180 profit on a raffle splendidly organised by Denise Robertson and Lindsay Ray, means that Ross Bridge Club Chairman Roy Milnes will be able to hand over a cheque for £500 in the near future.

At the card tables the top prizes in the four rounds event looked destined to finish with the team including Denise and Lindsay and Tony and Jutta Shadforth. They were convincing leaders throughout but ultimately had to settle for the runners-up prizes with 60 V/P's. The team consisting of Pam Jenkins, Ron Carter, Paul Ford and Guy van der Gucht just got to the finishing line ahead of them with 62 V/P's.

Chris Chowney, Susan Shore, Lin Bennett and Jennifer Berrington were also in the photo frame finish with 60 V/P's with subsidiary prizes also finding their way to Mike and Maggie Appleton, and Sue and Derek Munday with 52 V/P's and Hylary Kingham, Roy Milnes, Carol Malim and Brian Dorey with 45 V/P's.

Jo and Geoff Baker were thanked having played key roles in the organisation of the successful evening which was directed by Club Chairman, Roy Milnes who was appreciative of the generosity shown from many quarters.
