With the Greytree pitch still under water, and another league match cancelled, the team accepted a friendly away to Coney Hill on Saturday. Taking a mixture of first teamers and up and coming young players, on a heavy pitch and fighting the wind and the rain, both sides did their best to play some rugby, but the home side used the conditions to better advantage and came back from a half time deficit to claim a 20-12 victory.
With very little rugby over the last 4-6 weeks, Ross looked rusty early on against a commited Coney Hill outfit. However, with the elements in their favour they quickly established some good territory deep in the home side's half, with Dave Green, Matt Redman and Craig Boughton scrimmaging strongly, Ross were able to deliver some quality ball for new scrum half Tom Harris, but the strong wind put paid to any fluid play.
