Unbeaten in their nine Southern area Herefordshire Junior League games this season, Ross Cricket Club Under 11s played Northern area winners, Bromyard in the Final on Sunday 11th August at the Herefordshire Cricket Centre at Bredon Drive in Hereford.
Ross won the toss and elected to bat in the 20 over a-side contest. Openers Luke Bond and captain Harry Friend immediately took the attack to a confident Bromyard side in an opening partnership of 63, featuring straight batting and excellent running between the wickets.
Friend was first out for an eye-catching 23. Ross then lost Alasdair Cook, Billy Sarjant and Sam Williams in quick succession before Mathew Morgan (15 not out) joined Bond to steady the ship. Bond was next out for a very impressive 26. James Cook, 9 not out, joined Morgan to carry Ross to a formidable total of 115.
