The whole-club theme continued over the weekend with Ross Rowing Club attending Bewdley Regatta and Sprint, with convincing wins and impressive performances by all who joined in.

Having competed at the British Rowing Junior National Championships only a week previously, there were successes for juniors Ella Bardsley-Taylor and Yasmin Howe in the girls aged 15 and 14 single scull events.

The wins continued in the 13, 14 and 15 year old double scull events. Firstly Katie Hermon and Emma Smith, then Howe, doubling with Jessie Punn, the double duo of Tom Clatworthy and Charlie Pope and finally the 15 year old boys, Oliver Billington and Elic Wales.

Sunday proved no less successful with some spectacularly close racing for the juniors. Wales, Billington, Ellie Humphryes and Lucy Burden won their adults coxless quad event.  The dead, heat then re-row, required Niamh Gabb to win her 15 year old girls’ single event was both gutsy and impressive.

Double duo Clatworthy and Pope continued their winning streak and the older 17 year old boys of Jayesh Punn, George Aubrey, Hugo Humphryes and Ben Clatworthy won their coxless quad event. See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
