The Year 8 rugby players at John Kyrle High School had a good year and performed well in their friendly matches, as well as the two county tournaments they entered. They are looking forward to next year’s county leagues.
Both Year 9s and Year 10s managed to get to the County plate finals, Year 9s being victorious in the final against Fairfield.
Pride of place goes to the Year 11 team who remained unbeaten up to the County final where they suffered their first loss of the season, although produced some outstanding rugby on the way to, and during the final.
Head of PE, Mike Donoghue, would like to thank the students, staff, parents and carers for their hard work, support and dedication throughout the term.
Mark Croad, Assistant Headteacher added that physical exercise, in this case through competitive rugby is a key element in helping sustain overall wellbeing of young people.
