MONROSS Trailblazers celebrated a successful conclusion to the Herefordshire and Borders Summer Cross Country League after securing third place overall in the team standings at the final race of the series.

The fourth and final fixture took place at Newton Court on Wednesday, July 22, hosted by Hereford Couriers Running Club, with the club producing another strong collective performance to round off the summer competition.

Rob Nicholls led the MonRoss runners home in a time of 30 minutes and 26 seconds, finishing ahead of Kieron Brown in 31:05 and Grant White in 31:51.

The series also brought individual honours, with Nicholls finishing second overall in the MV35 category, while White claimed third in the same category. Megan Gore completed a successful campaign by taking third place overall in the senior female standings.

Other MonRoss finishers included Jake McBride, Lucinda Lumley, Richard Bevan, Rachael Aitken, Rob Potter, Andrew Stephens, Martin Turner, Trina Sami, Vanessa Ward, Rosie Davies, Tom Gore, Emma Humphries and Helena Reay.

Club members rounded off the evening with presentations, burgers and cider, celebrating another enjoyable summer league campaign while thanking the volunteers and supporters who helped make the series another success for the Ross-on-Wye based running club.
